The Summer That Left Behind a Mess

In the summer of 2010, a bunch of friends and I decided that we would rent a shore house for the summer in Manasquan, NJ. We decided we all needed a place to unwind in the summer near the beach and that if we all went in on a house as a group, we would have a great time. We were right, in fact, we had a little bit too much of a good time. The end of the summer rolled around, and it was time to clean up the mess we had made in our beach cottage. After what seemed to be hours of collecting all of the empty cups and half filled cans of beer, it was time to scrub the place down and look for additional mess that might be around the house. We weren't blessed with honda pressure washers and the like - just elbow grease! First and foremost, was the door, which had been broken off of the hinges during a late night brawl that occured between 2 liquored up roomates. We decided that the door wasn't worth fixing and we will have to pay the landlord some of our secutiry deposit. The rest of the house was absolutely filthy. Every floor was sticky, the toilets were clogged and the water had turned black. The house truly looked like a scene from a college frat house. Needlesss to say, this will be the last time that we ever rent a house together, and if on an off chance, we decide to do something like this again, we will hire a cleaning service!
